About Our Practice
The Complete Examination
All new patients to our practice are given a comprehensive dental examination which will include all of the following:
- Overview of health status
- Review of priorities, goals and desires
- Review of previous dental treatment
- Examination of teeth and gums
- Overview of bite related issues
- Oral cancer screening
- Intra-oral X-rays
- Cosmetic evaluation
- Oral Hygiene Assessment and suggestions
- Photographic records
Additional diagnostic procedures that may be advised include:
- Impressions for study models
- Extra-oral X-rays
- Three dimensional X-rays (i-Cat imaging)
- Luminescent oral cancer screening
- Salivary gland function tests
These are additional items which incur an additional fee. They are not always necessary and you would have to specifically agree to them before we proceeded.
Recall Examination
For your convenience, recall examination will include oral hygiene maintenance and, wherever possible, minor restorative procedures may be completed. The recall interval varies according to individual needs and typically ranges from 3 to 12 months. If the interval between examinations extend beyond two years, then it is likely that a comprehensive examination will be recommended. Similarly, it is likely that a comprehensive re-assessment will be suggested for all patients at 5 yearly intervals if this has not been done sooner.
Understanding Costs
Good dental care is one of the best investments you will ever make. Dental conditions vary in complexity and severity, and fees vary to reflect these differences. Fees for services rendered in our office are based on our skill, judgment, experience and expertise. Our office chooses to be a private fee for service practice and payment is due when services are rendered. Our office accepts major credit cards (Bankcard, Mastercard, Visa); cash or cheque and EFTPOS services are also available. We can also arrange finance through third parties, if you prefer to spread your payments.
Appointments
Advanced planning is a concept that our office encourages especially in this age of business and travel. Appointments are encouraged to be scheduled in advance in order to reserve time that best serves you. In order to avoid scheduling difficulties, advanced notice is appreciated when making any change to scheduled appointments as everyone's time is precious.
